My First Steps

I practiced a lot—sometimes hosting others, sometimes on my own. I remember when I was a novice, someone asked me what I was doing; I told them I was practicing and honing my skills. They laughed and said, (You don’t really have any specific skills yet.)

I smiled and said, “Maybe not yet. But skills are not something you are simply given—they are something you build.”

Looking back, I think that moment taught me something important:you don’t need to already be good at something to start improving. You just need the patience to keep going when others cannot yet see the progress.I played almost every day, especially because I had more free time back then. When the day of the Division Ceremony came, I had already made up my mind. I was planning to join the Blades.

But when I saw the Rangers for the first time, I got really excited about becoming one of them. There was something about their appearance and the way they carried themselves that immediately caught my attention.
