The Emerald Tavern · Submitted by Chronicler, kingllaxi

Easily the most populated area in the nation, lies a thriving little town at the base of a mountain. By the coast is a great castle standing tall above the rest, surrounded by the homes of many friendly folk.

They are kept safe, and free to do as they please, because of those who keep watch from the shadows.

Those eyes noticed me for my “observant nature”, I was told. I didn’t think a nomad would be aptly qualified to join their ranks, yet they were certain I would be a great help. I wasn’t sure how I would be of service in my own tour of this country, but I reluctantly pledged the oath and was inducted. I figured having people watching my back is better than none. Though I wondered how I would have answered had the teutonics asked me instead.

I frequent a certain establishment found on the outskirts of this town. The comfortable and warm glow of the Emerald Tavern is where I often find myself pondering or watching all kinds of civilians. You overhear many tales and legends in this particular pub, especially back when it was a more popular place. They long for the memories made here from a past peaceful time.

But the outskirts of this town are much quieter now, and this particular tavern reminds me of the isolated forest town I almost called home.

The first settlement I managed to find after reaching these lands. The village buried in snow.
